MEANING

Sri Gyaandev says,
When a Sathguru is there to support, who cares about others (worldly people)?
Does the wife of a king beg? She gets whatever is in her mind. If one sits at the foot of a Kalpavriksha (wish giving tree), all his wishes are fulfilled. Gyaandev says, “I have swum the ocean of samsara (world) and prospered due to Gurukrupa (Guru’s grace).

People have diverse needs in their life. They want their needs to be satisfied in the best possible manner. Shopping malls have become a trend all over the world. The basic objective of setting up malls is a one-shop stop for all their material needs. People just have to go in and pick up the necessary things. But in this world is there any one-stop shop for permanent happiness? If so, where? At the Divine Feet of a Sathguru.

Why do we have a soft corner for others? We expect others to reciprocate the same. But in most of the cases the so called near and dear ones just betray us. People can’t understand the true feelings and needs every time. They are dissolved in their own worries and troubles, leave alone consoling us. The words just come out of their mouth and not from their hearts. Now this statement shouldn’t be misinterpreted. People may truly want to help us but at most they can just console us through words. The main point is that they themselves aren’t sure whether our problems would be solved or not. At times people criticize, at times they praise. One can’t predict how their behaviour will change the next moment. So if a Sathguru is there to back up and support us, there is no need to pay heed to the words of such people.

A Sathguru gives all the things to his disciples. A disciple need not go out in search of happiness towards worldly people. The wife of a king gets everything that she wants from the king. She need not even go out of her palace for her wants. Why is it so? The king has got the capacity to satisfy all her wants. The same way a Sathguru fulfills each and every wish in the minds of the disciples. Even the highest aim in life – Krishna is revealed by a Sathguru to his disciple.

Kalpataru is a wish-granting tree. Whoever sits beneath the tree, the wishes in his/her mind come true. Such are the powers of a Kalpatru tree. Even a Sathguru’s powers are unimaginable. The wishes of a disciple in the mind are automatically conveyed to a Sathguru even without actually conveying it to Him. But a Sathguru is far superior to a Kalpavriksha. A Kalpavriksha can’t differentiate between harmful and harmless needs. For example if one sits beneath a kalpavriksha and thinks that a tiger would kill him it will really happen!!! But a Sathguru grants only the beneficial wishes of His shishya.

The greatness of a Sathguru as described above is not a mere exaggeration. Only when one is under the shadow of a Sathguru, one can truly realize this and will be able to feel that whatever is described above is not sufficient at all. The grace of a Sathguru can’t be expressed in mere words.

Finally Gyaandev says that he has crossed the samsarasaagara (ocean of the world) and prospered due to a Sathguru. Without a Sathguru one may prosper materially but for overall development  (spiritual as well as material) a Sathguru is a must. A Sathguru is not entangled in the net of maaya (illusion). So to deliver the suffering samsaaris (worldly beings), a Mahatmaa  (great soul) is required.

ACHYUTHA PRIYAA

short stories to regain your faith

Radhekrishna!! Unconditional faith in Bagawan Krishna is the only way to lead a happy life. The faith should be such that it cannot be shaken under any circumstances. When you hand over your responsibility to Bagawan Krishna you are set free. You need not worry about your life. But now a question arises how to believe it? Here we take example of the children. Everyone wants to go back to their childhood. As a child you were so happy because you had unconditional belief in your parents and you were sure that they will take care of you in any situation. So why not have unconditional belief in Bagawan Krishna and gift your life with happiness? If you don’t believe just give it a try.

Mauji an innocent cowboy who had no knowledge about Supreme Power had unconditional faith that if he sits in the position as directed by Brahmin, he would surely see Bagawan Krishna. Satisfied by the faith and unconditional belief, Bagawan Krishna gave Mauji His darshan. But Mauji was not ready to accept the person before him as Bagawan Krishna so he went to call the Brahmin. Going half way Mauji came back.

Suddenly he remembered, “What if the so called Bagawan Krishna runs away while I have gone to call the Brahmin !!”. So he thought to tie Bagawan Krishna with a rope on a tree. Bagawan Krishna remained silent and did as per Mauji’s wishes. This is Bagawan Krishna! Karunasagar!  Mauji being unaware about Bagawan Krishna tied Him on the tree. Bagawan Krishna is boundless. We can only tie him in our heart and mind with rope of love and devotion.

What a mercy Bagawan Krishna has! Is this the devotion of Mauji or mercy of Bagawan Krishna! Both are like two sides of the same coin. Bagawan Krishna didn’t reply to Mauji and kept smiling innocently. How can He betray His children by running away!  Krishna’s grace on His children is unlimited. If a normal parent can fulfill the worldly materialistic wishes of a child then Bagawan Krishna's powers are unsurpassed !! When Krishna will start pouring His grace, sky is the limit! He is awesome!! Only He is equal to Him!!!

Very few bhakthas have enjoyed this experience of tying Bagawan Krishna. Each ones experience is different from one another. In Dwaparayuga, Yashodha mata tied the small kichcha with a rope. Sahadev tied Bagawan Krishna not from outside, but inside His mind itself. Bagawan Krishna challenged Sahadev, and He Himself made Sahadev win too! Sahadev tied the antaryami Krishna with the rope of true love and devotion. Needless to say Bagawan Krishna is bounded by true love and real devotion. In Kaliyuga the great Sakhubhai tied the bubbly, vivacious Pandarinathan. The best part is Vithoba Himself came in disguise of Sakhubai, untied her then asked the real Sakhubai to tie Him with the rope. Mauji was one more Kaliyuga devotee who got this divine experience. These bhakthas are fortunate enough to enjoy the divine leela of Bagawan Krishna.

Bagawan Krishna was aware of everything still He remained quiet with an innocent childish smile. Being tied Him with a rope Mauji left to see the Brahmin. But somehow his mind was constantly thinking about the person he had tied and His beauty attracted him. Such is the power of Bagawan Krishna. Once you fall in love with Bagawan Krishna it is hard to come out of it.

When Mauji saw the Brahmin on the way he narrated the entire incident to Brahmin. But the Brahmin was not ready to accept him. So he decided to go to the riverbank alongwith Mauji. Mauji felt extremely excited and was waiting for the Brahmin to certify it to be Bagawan Krishna. On reaching the places were Bagawan Krishna was tied Brahmin said, “ I cannot see anyone tied to the tree and you are just fooling me”. This added to the confusion of Mauji. Mauji was trying to make the Brahmin understand that there is a person tied to the tree. But nevertheless Brahmin was not ready to believe him.

In middle of all these things happening Bagawan Krishna was watching the conversation interestingly. Mauji asked Bagawan Krishna “Why can’t the Brahmin see you?”

To this Bagawan Krishna replied.................

To know what Bagawan Krishna replies wait till next issue!

HRUDHAYAANJALI

the power of divine grace

Life has undergone a lot of changes after joining sathsang. Namasankeertanam has brought the changes. The sole key to the happiness is constant by chanting of lord Krishna’s name and Gurudhyanam.

Previously, I used to presume Bhakti means – to do Pooja [usually done as a duty], to go to temple [during exams especially].and so on.

Now I understood what Bhakti means- it is true love for God and easiest way to do Bhakti i.e. to chant Lord Krishna’s name and thinking about him and not about worldly things.

I have learnt that totally surrendering to the lord is the way to attain him. While proceeding with any sort of work, I should not think I am doing, it is lord Krishna who is doing the work through me. If I think I am doing the work, I know everything it is sure that I will not succeed .In the real sense, what do I know?.

While writing exam or while doing any work that is assigned to me I think that the work is assigned to me and lord Krishna will make me do it. In case of exams, I do my duty of studying and totally surrender to the Lord. He has set the question paper and he will make me write the exam.

I can feel the difference in happiness that is achieved by doing namasankeertanam and world things. The one that is got by chatting with friends, watching t.v., or while doing any other worldly things, the happiness stays only for that period of time, it is temporary. But the happiness that is achieved by Namasankeertanam, by talking with Guru is from the bottom of my heart. It is only the real happiness.

I would like to narrate some of my experiences after joining sathsang:

One day, my mother and myself, we both went out and had some eatable.  After coming home, my mother started suffering from stomach ache, then vomiting and loose motion. But before I started eating, I uttered sarvam Krishnaarpanam and then started eating. By God’s grace, nothing happened to me. I do it everytime before I start consuming anything; I utter Sarvam Krishnaarpanam and then start eating.

In our class, we had to present on certain topics, which were assigned to us by our professor. Groups were selected for that purpose and only two from each group were told to present before the whole class. I had to present on one of the topic that was assigned to me and the professor did not cover that topic. When I went through the topic, I could not understand the topic. I tried to manage it somehow and left the rest to god. The next day, before presenting, I surrendered to the god and took Guruji’s name and then started with my presentation. It became successful, as it was not me who spoke; it was the god who spoke within me. The whole credit goes to him, I did not do anything. Every work will become successful if we surrender everything to him. He will take care that the work becomes successful. But we should work on our part and then leave it to him.

The purpose of human life is KrishnaDarshan and that we have to realize it. Continuous namajapam and urge to see Lord Krishna will take us closer to Lord Krishna. Namajapam needs nothing but interest and Guru cultivates that interest within us. Guru sows the seed of love for Lord Krishna. We have to make the seed grow into a huge tree by constant chanting of lord Krishna’s name. Guru lays the foundation of Bhakti within us.  Lord Krishna showers grace on us every second, we have to realize it. Bhakti is like an insurance policy –premium we pay is the namajapam and return is moksha.

It is correctly said “Know Guru –Know God

    No Guru – No God”

SHRADHAARPANAM

our wholehearted dedication

This issue we are dedicating to Goswami Tulsidaas

The divine poet who composed the Ramayan in Hindi calling it Rama Charita Manas.

He was born at the end of 15th Century and lived uptil the advent of 17th century, thus spreading Bhakthi, right under the nose of Muslim rule.

The great devotee, who didn’t cry on birth, instead chanted “Ram Ram”.

The householder who gave up everything when his wife questioned his mind’s will, thus turning him a staunch devotee.

The blessed devotee whose only aim in life was to get darshan of LORD RAMA.

The devotee who was blessed and guided by Hanuman Himself.

Tulsidas, the devotee whose divine composition Ram Charita Manas is a guiding light of culture, thus showing the divine figure of Sri Rama in the bright light of Bhakthi.

The great devotee whose devotion brought the Muslim ruler, Jahangir to his knees, according to the will of Hanuman.

The devotee, whose devotion made even Sri Krishna in Mathura to take  the form of Sri Rama.

The great saint who lived for 136 years and preached  "Hinduism" in the simplest way for the common people.
